First things first:<\/strong><\/p>\n1. DO NOT add an A record
\n2. DO NOT create a subdomain<\/p>\n
If you\u2019ve already done either of those, it\u2019s best to choose a different subdomain. So instead of \u201cstore\u201d choose \u201cshop\u201d for example. (If you are comfortable with DNS records, by all means, just delete them.)<\/p>\n
To have your Shopify store appear under your own domain follow these steps:<\/h2>\n
1. Login to cPanel and go to DNS Simple<\/p>\n
2. You need to add 2 CNAME records. (You do NOT need an A record)<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Add first CNAME record:<\/p>\n
Name: shop.yourdomain.com<\/p>\n
CNAME: storename.Shopify.com<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Add second CNAME record:<\/p>\n
Name: www.shop.yourdomain.com<\/p>\n
CNAME: storename.Shopify.com<\/p>\n
\u00a0That\u2019s it for cPanel. Nothing else needs to be done here. Log out.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
3. Login to your Shopify admin and go to Domains<\/p>\n
4. Click on Connect Existing Domain<\/p>\n
5. Add shop.yourdomain.com and then click Verify (If it doesn\u2019t verify it will give you a prompt about what to do.)<\/p>\n
6. Now also add www.shop.yourdomain.com and click Verify<\/p>\n
It might have already added your shop.yourdomain.com as the Primary domain automatically. If not, go to Domains and select your preferred domain as the Primary Domain.<\/p>\n
Most likely your new store domain address will be ready to go right away or within a couple of minutes, but it may take up to 48 hours.<\/p>\n
